communication device - euphemism for "new toy"

After my IBM quietly (not so much) decided to take leave of this world and make a permanent departure, Katie and I were stuck in a dilemna; we could go without a computer, thus without sure communication, or we could buy something...smaller.

We decided to buy something smaller. That something is an eee PC by Asus, upon which my oversized phalanges happen to be typing.
